Welcome to Scottish Boxer Health
Our goal here at Scottish Boxer Health is to try and find out which health conditions are affecting the Boxer breed (in Scotland) and how prevalent these conditions are. This data will be used to support a campaign for centralised, systematic recording of pedigree-dog health information.
There is currently no central database where puppy/dog owners can report health problems and as a result we simply do not know the true extent of health conditions affecting our pedigree dogs.
We want to collect this information because we need to get a better picture of what is happening to our Boxer dogs. We believe this data can then be used to prove to The Kennel Club there is a need for a centralised health database, which would provide early detection of hereditary health problems (and allow analysis of temperament issues), thus allowing early intervention and control.
